The new year...

For me, 2011 brings a welcome change,
lots of energy, confidence and courage to take the leap toward new dreams
and awaken the goals that remained tucked away on a shelf throughout the years.

I need to start preparing myself, organizing my life and creating solutions.
Looking forward to a new year filled with bright new beginnings,
a healthy wellbeing, and new opportunities about to be unfold...

Wishing my readers plenty of peace, happiness,
hope and champagne!

The last week of the year

I love the week between Xmas and New Year's.
It's a week filled with eating left overs, Xmas lights are on all day and night,
Hot cocoa is served with lots of marshmallows (with no guilt),
PJs are worn 24/7, and a peaceful and cozy energy spreads all over the air.
For some, it's also the time to re-think about the past year.
Time to substitute past failures for hope.
Time to start fresh. To believe in world peace. To believe in pure love.

May the last week of the year fill our hearts with nothing but gratitude.

Happy ending, everyone.

Home Inspiration: Purple walls

Lilac, violet, lavender, grape or plum??
The secret is to choose the shade that compliments your personality
and the character of your home.

Below are some very inspiring interiors using great hues.
But if you are not ready to make the change, start with a pretty vase of purple orchids!

Home Inspiration: Pink and Gray

I wear this color combination all the time,
and one of these days, while I was getting dressed to go to work,
my mirror reveled how beautiful it would be if I had pink and gray in my interiors as well.

Having brand new ideas for a new home!
Thanks to my cloudy gray work pants and my honeysuckle pink polo.

Historic Lunar Eclipse

Last night the earth passed directly between the sun and the full moon.
It was the first winter solstice lunar eclipse after 372 years.
NASA still can't predict when the next one will occur)

I settled outside in the patio with a cup of hot cocoa, a cozy blanket and my camera.
Had enough time to think about life, meditate and pray looking at the sky.

Hopefully my prayers had a stronger meaning since God's backyard had a special twist!
Time will tell.......

Were you able to witness this phenomenal and rare event?

You can stay outside my window as long as you like.
I really wouldn't have it any other way.......

Bedroom Inspiration: Shades of Gray

Gray can go in so many directions and enhances the simplicity and freshness of any room.
No wonder why it has become my favorite bedroom hue.
Here are some stunning inspirations using this perfect neutral.

Home Inspiration: Neoclassic style

You are a star and your home is the backdrop of your life!
Set your stage away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life
with elegant neoclassical interiors.

Quote of the day

"To love at all is to be vulnerable.
Love anything, and your heart will certainly be broken.
If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one,
not even to an animal.
Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements;
lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness.
But in that casket - safe, dark, motionless, airless - it will change.
It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable"

~ C.S. Lewis

Home Inspiration: Home libraries

Many people find reading to be a relaxing hobby,
so why not create your own place for learning?

There are a million ways to design a home library,
which can become as personal as you would like for it to.
Whether you choose a small, funky shelving system, or a grand library,
the options for personalization of the space should never be overlooked.

A bit of inspiration down below.

It's official. I am no longer a New York resident.

The NY chapter.
I could say that this was, so far, the most important chapter in my life.
When you live with 8 million people around you,
that's when you start seeing things - and yourself - in a different prospective.

I'm already missing NYC terribly,
but as of the beginning of a brand new chapter,
all I can say is that I'm bursting with happiness, excitement, and joy!

Long lasting affection

Seeing old couples holding hands fills my heart with so much love,
that I hope that will be me one day.
I dream of a world full of 'tied-together hearts' and long lives living together!
