Today's Summer Look!

There's is just something about that basic white strapless shirt
that when combined with jeans, aviators, flats and gold accessories,
will bring us the scent of fresh summer.

Every closet should have this classic combo!

This is my pick for my lunch out with the girls this weekend.
Have a great day, everyone!

Drinking in the skyline

Yes, NYC has officially been cleared to come out of the basement lounges.
Manhattan's 'rooftops bar season' has finally re-opened.

From this moment on (summer),
all happy hour cocktails and panoramic nightcaps shall return!

There are hundreds of roof bars in the city,
and I've seen and loved pretty much all of it,
but my heart holds a special place to the ones I mostly go to:

230 Fifth
230 Fifth Ave
New York, NY 10001

Provocateur - Hotel Gansevoort
18 Ninth Ave
 New York, NY 10014

Above 6 at 6 Columbus
6 Columbus Circle
New York, NY 10019

Penthouse 808 - Ravel Hotel
8-08 Queens Plaza South
Long Island City, NY 11101

This last one is not exactly a rooftop bar,
but a Brazilian/Bosnian BBQ place that belongs to a dear friend of mine;
it has a stunning panoramic view and a extremely friendly staff.
Visit Anable Basin Bar & Grill and show your support!  :-)

I am getting ready to enhance my summer with a view...
Dear July, here I come!!!

Skinny Girl rocks!

From BravoTV stars to my close friends, everybody is making this drink lately,
and I couldn't stay away from trying this trendy new drink.
I already created about 7 different ways to make THE PERFECT 'Skinny bitch',
and you know what? they all came out perfect!
I always carry at least 2 bottles in my bar fridge, my guests tend to L-O-V-E it!
Get yours, and create your own fun recipe!

Not feeling creative at all? So try this easy and fast way:
Blend lots of ice with 2 glasses of skinny girl margarita, the juice of six lime wedges,
1 glass of Pineapple juice and a generous splash of coconut milk.

Enjoy!

Must-Have: Ballet Flats

Everyone knows that I'm a HUGE fan of heels.
Specially being as little as I am.
But since I moved to the Big Apple, I HAD to learn how to use flats.
With all the walking around that only this city demands, comfortable shoes are a must!
Comfortable and Stylish; after all, I still live in a metropolitan city.

Below are some from my shopping list.

You can find several models at department stores
such as Macy's or Blooming Dale's.

Keep on reading!

The other day I came across some disturbing statistics on reading.
According to a recent study, 42% of college graduates will never read another book.
Sad, isn't it?!

Reading classics - and also non-classics -made me improve in many aspects,
including the understanding of the human conditions, deeper appreciation of modern problems,
spiritual issues and even my physical appearance.

Here are few reasons to motivate your reading:

Bigger Vocabulary
When reading the classics you’ll come across many words that are no longer commonly used.
Why learn words most people don’t use? To set yourself apart!
You’ll be able to create a perception of higher intelligence that will give you an advantage at work,
 and in social situations.

Improved Writing Ability
After reading, our thoughts begin to mirror the writer’s style.
This influence carries over to writing, helping to form clear, rhythmic sentences.

Fresh Ideas
Isn’t it ironic that the best source for new ideas are writers who’ve been dead for centuries?
By looking to the classics for inspiration, you can enhance your creativity and find fresh subject matter.

Entertainment
Reading classics is actually really fun!
The key is getting past the initial vocabulary barrier.
There’s a reason filmmakers keep remaking old books - they have the best content.

Sophistication
If you’d like to excel in conversation, knowledge of the classics is essential!
Plus quoting Aristotle or Voltaire is a great way to win an argument.

Learn Timeless Ideas
The lessons of the classics carry as much weight as ever before.
They contain information that is directly applicable to your life.
Try reading Ben Franklin’s Autobiography and you'll see!

Keep in mind that to read nothing but the classics,
would be as foolish as completely ignoring them!
The aim is to combine the wisdom of the past with the innovation of the future.

Happy Reading!

Vintage Cake Stands

Who would't want to bake a delicious cake for their loved ones?
And placing it on a - what I like to call it - piece of art,
where little eyes will sparkle with such anticipation
as they marvel at the goodies hidden away under the lid.

It also works really well with cupcakes and small pastries.
I usually place pears and green apples on mine,
since I live by myself and do not want to get extra calories when I don't need it.
You can find it in several virtual stores, it ranges from $10 to $150.

Happy Eating!

A Lot of Dog In a Small Body

This adorable creature has a wrinkly, short-muzzled face, fat body and curled tail.
They are recognized for their playful personalities, and their outgoing, loving dispositions.
They're natural comedians who love to perform for their owner.
Strong willed with a remarkable personality, despite its small size!

They love to be on stage and they love attention.
Pugs are very sociable animals and will do almost anything to please their owners.

I reeeeeally want a black pug (or a white French Bulldog) for Xmas!

It's going to be such a hard choice!

Working 9 to 5. And still trying to rock these shoes!

Wearing stilettos will give you more confidence and a ‘can do’ attitude.
Feeling better about yourself will help you stand out in any given situation.

I firmly believe that the right pair of heels can change your life!

“I don't know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot”
